Why the right lash glue matters so much
The most beautiful false lashes stand or fall with the lash glue you use. Good lash glue gives a strong, long-lasting hold without irritation — bad glue can lead to lashes coming loose, skin irritation or even damage to your own lashes.
At LuxuryQueenLashes we also have our own lash glue in the range — specially formulated for safe use around the eyes, with a skin-friendly formula.
Types of lash glue
1. Transparent lash glue
Dries clear, ideal for a natural look. Perfect if you don't wear eyeliner or want a subtle style. Recommended for beginners.
2. Black lash glue
Dries matte black and doubles as an eyeliner effect. Perfect for a dramatic look or if you always wear black eyeliner. Hides small application mistakes well.
3. Built-in glue (press-on cluster lashes)
Our press-on cluster lashes come with a built-in, skin-friendly adhesive. No separate glue needed — just press and you're done. The most user-friendly option.
How do you apply lash glue correctly?
- Prepare your lashes — make sure your own lashes and eyelids are clean and oil-free. Oil or residue from eye make-up causes a weaker hold.
- Apply a thin layer of glue — apply a very thin, even layer of lash glue to the strip of the false lashes. Less is more: too much glue gives clumps and a messy result.
- Wait 30 seconds — this is the crucial step many people skip! Let the glue dry slightly (become tacky) before you apply the lashes. Otherwise the lashes slide around.
- Apply — place the lashes as close as possible to your lash line, starting in the middle and working toward the corners.
- Press gently — use a cotton bud or lash applicator to press the edge down firmly.
- Let dry for 1-2 minutes — move your eyes as little as possible during this time for the best hold.
The biggest mistakes with lash glue
- Using too much glue — gives a messy white edge and weaker hold.
- Not waiting — lash glue that isn't tacky won't hold well.
- Buying cheap glue — cheap lash glue can cause eye irritation, allergic reactions and damage to lashes.
- Using expired glue — always check the expiry date. Old glue holds less well and can cause eye infections.
How do you remove lash glue?
Removing it well is just as important as applying it well:
- Apply a small amount of oil-based remover to your lash line with a cotton bud.
- Let it work for 20-30 seconds.
- Use a clean spoolie to gently loosen the glue from below.
- Never pull the lashes off roughly — this damages your own lashes.
- Afterwards, clean your eyelids with micellar water.
